Hello fellow travel lovers and welcome to my travel blog!
For my spring break I will be taking a trip back to my homeland, Nigeria. My parents still live in my childhood house in Lagos, one of the fastest growing cities in the world. I grew up in Lagos until it was time for me to go off to college. I miss my city. Being so far away from home has been such an adjustment. After meeting and talking to my friends at school it is interesting to hear about how they grew up and what traditions they take part in. I am hoping this blog will help you be able to learn a little about my background!
I am a junior at University College London. Located in the heart of the city. After completing high school my parents thought it was imperative that I strive to get a well-rounded education. I am an international studies major with the hopes of working at a place like the United Nations one day.
I have been very interested in traveling since I was a little boy, but recently realized that I did not know a lot about my own culture. My parents came from two different areas in Nigeria. My mom being from the city of Lagos and my father being from a village in Enugu. I only heard stories from my father about the tribe he came from, and about my grandfather who was a very traditional Ibo tribe member. He never told me many stories as they did not have a great relationship. But I am excited to see what else I can learn about my culture from trip!
